Get to Work!

Boomer's ready to get to work.

This is a vacant city-owned lot. It was the site of a multi-unit property that burned down years before.  It was starting to get filled with trash and overgrown with brush.

The abandoned brick building is a former Earl Scheib Automobile Paint Shop.

Half a century ago, Earl used to growl in his TV ads, "I'll paint any car, any color. $29.95."

Boomer and Sunny and other volunteers of the Neighborhood Restoration Subcommittee of the local Weed and Seed program cleared out the garbage and brush. The government funding paid to haul it away.

The local Weed and Seed program was administered by the County Department of Public Health, and funded by the United States Department of Justice.

Wave to the camera. Say cheese!
